Premier league announced friendly fixtures to take place as Clubs prepare for the return of the league,the match between the Red Devils and Stoke city was to be played at the training ground of Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar’s side preparations for the Premier League return have been hindered , after their planned friendly with Stoke had to be cancelled due to Stoke city’s manager Michael O’Neill testing positive for coronavirus.

With the Premier League planned to return on 17th of June and the English second tier to start shortly after, teams around England have been arranged friendly matches against teams that are can be able to travel within 90 minutes not more.

The Red Devils and the Potters were set to play before Stoke’s head coach O’Neill tested positive at the Red Devils Carrington training ground. The friendly was cancelled with no members of Manchester United coming in contact with Potters players.

The Potters released a report following the discovery, it’s was confirmed that the head coach Michael O’Neill has tested positive for the Corona virus following the latest round of testing on Monday.

The club stated the the coach will now follow the relevant guidance and undergo a period of isolation from the rest of the team.

Manchester Unitedare currently fifth in the Premier League table and are ready to return to action on June 19 against former United manager Jose Mourinho and his Tottenham side.
