How to make God answer your prayers

If that scripture is true that God has no favorites, which it is, what then is the problem between me and God that He seems to be deaf to my own prayers? I have prayed and even fasted and given offerings and seeds. What then should I do again?”

If this seems to be like you today, congratulations because right on this post, you are going to find two (2) keys that will help you knock down that mountain today. I mean today! One right prayer attitude will get it done. Let see;

1. The first hindrance to getting answers to your prayers as I choose to present it here is in your last statement. “I Have Done, I Have Done, I Have Done… What Then Should I Do Again?

That’s the problem why you have not received answers to your prayers. Because you are looking for what you can do or what you have done. While it is very important and in fact, a law to sow seeds, fast and to give offerings for you to receive, the problem here is that you are now putting Faith in those things you are doing or have done Rather than putting faith in God through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus. That means that your Faith is now moving away from Jesus and His love for you from and through which everything else comes to you, to the things that you have done. It is transferring faith from God to self and efforts.

See what Jesus says about it to His disciples in Mark 11:21-22 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Here, the disciples were dazed at what happened and how suddenly it happened and the response Jesus gave was short and simple “Have Faith In God.”

This is very important because we all have faith in something. Even the person who believes differently from what God’s word teaches still believes, only that he believes differently. Some have faith in their money. When we talk about buying up a Plaza, they don’t think to pray about it at all because as for them, the question is “how much does it cost?” for these folks they are not moved or agitated one bit because they have Faith In Their Bank Account. Oh… It is Faith not to bother about what anything costs or what inflation does to commodities; it is faith.

For some, their Faith is in their parents. He is a prince. If he tells his father, the king to get him a particular land in the kingdom or marry him a particular woman, it is as good as done. They are not perturbed about what it involves or entails. They know they have it. That’s Faith But, in their parents.

What about the man who just got a new car? He just got the car and it is a brand new one right? So, he goes driving 200kmph when his usual speed limit in the old car was 90. You ask him to drive slowly and remind him how he had been a calm driver before, he tells you “oh don’t worry. It is a new car.” Somewhere in his head, he believes that this new car is safer somehow because the tires are all new and trusted. There’s no fear of puncture or explosion. The breaks are virgin and all the transmission systems are intact. He Has Faith But His Faith Is In The Newness Of The Car.

That’s why Jesus says here to Have Faith In God. That means to Turn your faith from everything else, including your tithes and offerings, your efforts to be holy, just and good, your sacrifices in his vineyard, your husband who has been serving God and all the credentials and Just simply acknowledge Romans 8: 32Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? (NLT)

Ephesians 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

You see, we are in the era of Faith not of works. While I strongly encourage you to live according to the principles of God’s word, I encourage more emphatically to set your gaze on the cross that got you saved in the first place.

2. Honesty / Motives: James 4:3 says you ask and receive NOT BECAUSE you ask amiss, so that you may consume it on your lusts. Why do you want that thing you are praying for. Don’t be deceived to think that because you are asking for spiritual power, you are automatically asking aright. You might as well be asking for it so you could impress your wife, a congregation, to prove a point to your senior pastor or because you see somebody else commanding power. We are NOT even supposed to ask for power anyway. Jesus says it will follow those that believe.

Your request for that new car should be weighed on basis of service to God and man NOT me myself and I. Be honest and simple as possible as you can be and you will see God show up in your case.

To be continued…

“When You make God your first priority, God will make you His Priority.”

House of Prayer Africa (HOPA) interceding for Africa. ZECHARIAH 12:8-10

In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

“The House of Prayer Africa” is a divinely orchestrated and inspired prayer platform uniting believers in intercessory prayers for Africa in these last days.

I think there’s no way to make God answer our prayers.
He only does things in His own way, we can only pray and do His will then wait for him to act on it.
